Devlog: Gearing Up for Lemonade Stand v0.9.6!

I have been hard at work on the next update, v0.9.6, which is focused on improving game balance and adding some much-requested quality-of-life features. Here is a list of changes that should be live:

Balancing the Books

First off, I'm making some pricing adjustments to the upgrades. The Shady Umbrella is a great early-game item, but it felt a bit too expensive, so I'm dropping the price to a more reasonable $15. The Ice Factory is a huge late-game power-up, but I want to make it a more achievable goal, so its cost is coming down to $40.

To make deciding on upgrades easier, I'm also making the buttons taller and adding short descriptions so you know exactly what benefit you're getting for your hard-earned cash.

End-of-Month Heat Wave!

To make the final week of the game more intense and strategic, I'm introducing a guaranteed "Heat Wave" event. In the last 7 days of your 30-day run, at least three of those days will be "Hot & Dry." This will be your chance to make a final push for huge profits, but you'll need to manage your inventory perfectly to capitalize on it! Thanks to @nycfcmatt for the feedback on this.

A Better Forecast

Weather should now be showing a full 3-day forecast! You should see "Today," "Day 2," and "Day 3" with their weather icons stacked vertically on the daily sales screen. This should give you a much better ability to plan your purchasing and pricing strategy.

Looking to the Future...

Finally, I'm sneaking some secret code into this update for a feature I plan to roll out after the official v1.0 launch. Let's just say I'm building the foundation for a "Wholesale Club" membership... A one-time fee for a permanent discount on all supplies and future upgrades. It's not active yet, but the groundwork is being laid! 😉
