Launch! v0.5.0


I am soft launching the game with a working title. The launch is to keep myself a bit more organized and to log my individual changes to the game moving forward. I have less than two hours into producing the game at this time. There are a number of short-term and long-term changes that I am already diligently working on that I am excited to implement and share.

Here is the changelog for initial release:

"Add $20" Button:

  • You'll now find an "Add $20 (Once/Day)" button in the header, next to your money display. This is only for soft launch and functionality testing purposes.
    • You can click this once per game day to get a small cash infusion. It will disable after use and re-enable the next day.
    • Stand Name in Animation:
  • The lemonade stand graphic in the selling animation will now display the name you entered at the start of the game, along with the 🥤 emoji. 
    • Slower Animation Speed:
  • The overall pace of the customer animation has been slowed down by approximately 15%. This includes both how frequently customers appear and how fast individual customers walk.
  • Daily Sale Chance: At the start of each day, there's a chance (currently 30%) that one supply item will go on sale.
  • Sale Item & Discount: If a sale occurs:
    • One item (cups, lemons, sugar, or ice) is randomly selected.
    • A discount (between 20% and 40%) is applied to its price for that day only.
  • UI Indication:
    • In the "Buy Supplies" section, the item on sale will be clearly marked with "✨ ON SALE! ✨" and its discounted price will be shown. Regular prices are shown for other items.
    • The cost display next to each item is now dynamic to reflect potential sales.
  • Purchase Logic: The game will use the discounted price when you buy the on-sale item.
  • New Negative Events: Weather-based disasters are out. Instead, after Day 7, you'll have a chance of experiencing a negative inventory event at the start of your day: either ants infesting your sugar or lemons spoiling, causing you to lose a portion of that supply.
  • Expanded Marketing (Radio Ad): In addition to yard signs, you'll now have a daily option to buy a costly but powerful "Radio Ad" that provides a significant boost to customer traffic.
  • Purchasable Cooler: A new "Upgrades" section will allow you to buy a Cooler for $75. Once purchased, you can save up to 100 ice cubes at the end of each day that would have otherwise melted. This is a one-time purchase.
  • Featured Social Media Comment: After each day, before the main summary report appears, you'll see a pop-up styled like a social media post. It will feature a single AI-generated customer review overlaid on one of ten different background images, giving you a snapshot of customer sentiment for that given day
